Somiyak Harsiyan - a Devotional music concert to honor the legends of Konkani devotional music Rev.Fr.Clement Mascarenhas and Rev.Fr.Valerian Mendonca was held on 19 March 2023 at 6:30PM at our church premises.The concert was begun by Mr.Anil Dsa Pangala who sang the hymn to honor The Holy Cross following which a stage program was organized. Mrs.Saritha Alva Compered the program. Our parish priest Rev.Fr.Henry Mascarenhas welcomed the gathering. Rev.Fr.Joseph Martis was the guest of honor along with the vicar of our deanery Rev.Fr.Leslie Dsouza, Rev.Fr.Clement Mascarenhas, Rev.Fr.Valerian Mendonca, Vice President and Secretary of our parish council Mrs.Asuntha Dsouza, Mr.Tony Monis and Correspondent of 20 commissions Mrs.Clara Menezes were present on the dais. During the program Rev.Fr.Clement Mascarenhas, and Rev.Fr.Valerian Mendonca were felicitated for their contribution to the KOnkani Devotional music following which Fr.Clement addressed the gathering. The Managing Director of Action Films Dubai Mr.Crispin Dominic who hails from our parish was also felicitated. The guest of honor Fr.Joseph addressed the gathering following which Rev.Fr.Denis Dsa took over. The concert began with a devotional dance by the students of Melody Music School Shankerpura. Rev.Fr.Denis compered the musical program who also gave preludes before hymn was sung. Miss.Sonal Monteiro, Mrs.Shilpa Cutinha, Mrs.Sangeetha Balachandra, Mr.Rony Dcunha, Dr.Vincent Alva, Mr.Anil Dsa, Mr.Marvel Dsouza along with the chorus singers sang the hymns composed by the duo. The music was arranged by Mr.Abdul Razak and his team from Kerala. Parishioners of Christ King Church Karkala also performed a dance in between the concert. All the singers, musicians, and sponsors were felicitated. Rev.Fr.Valerian Mendonca proposed the Vote of Thanks. The concert concluded at 9:30PM.
